Samsung has revealed their new Galaxy Note Edge, and from the initial looks of it, it is a very impressive phone. The SGNE is an upgrade on the Galaxy Note 4, it has a curved asymmetrical shape, and a new flexible display, that curves around the right edge of the phone, giving it a unique design.
The Galaxy Note Edge isn’t a phone that can be easily mastered, but it isn’t very hard to use, and if you are used to the Galaxy Note 4, you won’t have a problem adjusting to this Note Edge, because they are very similar. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 32 GB of storage space, and 3 GB of RAM. The SGNE also comes with a 16 megapixel camera, that has optical image stabilization, and is capable of recording in 4K Ultra HD.
The curve on the end of the SGNE might take some getting used to, because it feels different when using it at first, especially since all the buttons that are usually on the right side of the phone have been moved to the left side, to accommodate the curve. After using the phone for a couple of hours, you will get used to the new changes.
The new curve on the right side of the phone isn’t just to give the SGNE a unique look, it also serves multiple purposes. There are apps that are usually found on the screen, that have been moved to the curve to create more room for other apps that you may want to install, if you are using the S Note, the tools and features have also been moved to the curve, to give you more writing space on your notepad. You can also get quick access to other tools like the voice recorder, stopwatch, flashlight and even a ruler from the curved screen. When your phone is not in use, you can check the date, time, and temperature, by just swiping along the curve.
When it comes to the battery life on the Galaxy Note Edge, it is slightly below the battery life of the Galaxy Note 4, but it still lasts up to a little over 11 hours with continuous video playback, which is very good.
All in all, the Edge is a great phone with plenty of cool features, especially if you are in the market for something a little different from what you see everyday. The only drawback might be the price, which is pretty steep, when compared to the Galaxy Note 4.
