1. Milan, Italy.
Milan is already one of the most elegant and wealthiest cities in the world, but it is about to get some added attention in 2015, because the 2015 World’s Fair Expo, will be held in the second largest city in Italy. Over 20 million people from all over the world will pay a visit to Milan between May and October of 2015, to check out the architectural marvels that will be unveiled, making it a must visit destination in the new year.
2. Nassau, Bahamas.
The Caribbean will be the place to be late in the spring, because that is when the opening of “Baha Mar.” is scheduled to take place. The luxury resort, also known as the Bahamian Riviera, is going to have four hotels, an 18 hole golf course, a 200,000 foot convention center, 30 bars and restaurants, 14 pools, and a 100,000 square foot casino, which will make it the first and biggest luxury resort of its kind in the Caribbean. The resort’s grand opening will be highlighted by performances from Emilio Estefan and Jamie King, and it is expected to be one of the biggest events of the year.
3. Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Abu Dhabi has been one of the top cultural destinations to visit in the middle east for some time now, and will become an even bigger tourist hotspot, when they open the first Louvre museum to be constructed outside of Paris, in 2015. In addition to the construction of the Louvre, there will also be a performing arts center built, followed by a National Museum in 2016, and the Abu Dhabi Guggenheim in 2017.
4. Washington, D.C.
The seat of the American government was already a major attraction to tourists, but should attract even more people in 2015, because it marks the 150 year anniversary of the assassination of former president Abraham Lincoln. There will be many artifacts that belonged to Lincoln on display, including the gun that was used to kill him, which will bring more people to the nation’s capital in 2015.
5. Faroe Islands.
This small European country will finally get some attention in March 2015, when they are expected to be one of the two places in the world where you can get to see the final total solar eclipse in Europe until 2026. In preparation for the event, travel agencies and travel tours are already started taking as many reservations as they can.
