February is the favorite month of a lot of women because of Valentine’s Day, which means gifts, flowers, and chocolates. In honor of the most romantic month of the year, we decided to sift through some of the most romantic movies ever made to give you a list of the top 5 romantic movies.

#5. Ghost.

This 1990 movie featuring the late Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore is about a man (Swayze) who was betrayed by his best friend and murdered over some money. After his death, Swayze’s ghost enlisted the help of a psychic (Whoopi Goldberg) to help him warn his fiancé of the impending danger. This movie won two Academy Awards and is considered one of the greatest romantic movies ever made.

#4. The Notebook.

The Notebook is based on the Nicholas Sparks book, it is the story of a poor young man (Ryan Gosling) who falls in love with a girl from a wealthy family (Rachel McAdams) during a summer vacation with her family. As expected, McAdam’s family did not approve of the relationship and tried to keep the young couple apart, but love prevailed and they found their way back to each other.

#3. Sleepless In Seattle.

When it comes to romantic movies, this movie is considered a must see. It stars Tom Hanks, who plays a widowed father whose son calls a radio station on Christmas Eve trying to find a companion for his lonely father. While on her way to spend Christmas with her family, Ryan, who is engaged, hears Hanks pouring his heart out on the radio while talking about his deceased wife and finds herself drawn to him. Ryan falls in love with Hanks despite never meeting him and has to decide if she should stick with her fiancé or take a chance and follow her heart with Hanks.

The events of the Titanic were very tragic, but James Cameron also managed to tell one of the greatest love stories of all time, which is one of the reasons it was the highest grossing movie of all time before it was displaced by Avatar. Like the notebook, it is the story of a boy from the wrong side of the tracks (Leonardo DiCaprio) falling in love with a girl from a wealthy family (Kate Winslet). As expected, Winslet’s family is against the relationship, especially since she was engaged to a man from a wealthy family. Despite the disapproval of Winslet’s family, they two of them couldn’t stay away from each other and proved that love conquers all.

#1. Casablanca.

This is a pretty old movie but it still holds up as perhaps the greatest romantic movie of all time. The movie takes place during World War II, and stars screen legend Humphrey Bogart as a saloon owner who lost the love of his life years ago. Ingrid Bergman, who plays Bogart’s lost love shows up at his saloon years later, married to the leader of the resistance and in need of his help. Casablanca is not only considered one of the best romantic movies ever made, it is also considered to be one of the best movies ever made.
